Mila Kunis

American actress Mila” Markovna Kunis was born (August 14, 1983) in Kiev, USSR (Now Ukraine). Her mother, Elvira, is a physics teacher, and her father, Mark Kunis, is a mechanical engineer and cab company executive. She has an older brother, Michael. Her family moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1991.

After a five-year process, the Kunis clan fled communism and enrolled their daughter at Rosewood Elementary School before she knew even a word of English. Kunis likened this experience to being “blind and deaf at age 7,” an experience that saw her come home everyday in tears. She started acting when she was just 9 years old when her father heard about an acting class on the radio and decided to put Mila in it to get her to socialize. There she met her future agent. Before she could say the word “royalties,” Kunis was starring in commercials and modeling for the likes of Barbie, Payless Shoes and Guess.

Her first TV role was as the young Hope Williams on an episode of the popular soap opera Days of our Lives. She had a minor role on 7th HeavenSanta with Muscles, Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves as Lucy’s nemesis and supporting roles in , and the Angelina Jolie film Gia, as Gia Carangi’s younger self.

In 1998 Kunis was cast as Jackie Burkhart in the Fox sitcom That ’70s Show.In 2001, she appeared in Get Over It opposite Kirsten Dunst. She followed that up in 2002 by starring in the straight-to-DVD horror film American Psycho 2 alongside William Shatner, a sequel to the 2000 film American PsychoHer only other success came when Seth McFarlane chose Kunis to replace Lacey Chabert as the voice of Meg Griffin on Family Guy. Though admittedly fun, the role couldn’t have been wholly satisfying for Kunis, who was used to being in front of the camera.

After a string of failed attempts on the big screen including After Sex, Moving McAllister and Boot Camp, Apatow tapped Kunis for the lead in the breakup comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall opposite Jason Segel and the usual culprits, Paul Rudd, Russell Brand and Jonah Hill.Whatever career choices she had made in the past, after her performance in Marshall this much was clear: Mila Kunis was ready to be a movie star.Same year she portrayed Mona Sax, a Russian assassin, alongside Mark Wahlberg in the action movie Max Payne, based on the video game of the same name. Kunis underwent training in guns, boxing, and martial arts for her role.iN 2009 she appeared in the comedy Extract with Ben Affleck and Jason Bateman.

In 2010, she starred alongside Denzel Washington in the action film The Book of Eli. Although the film received mixed reviews, it has performed well at the box office grossing over $157 million worldwide.Kunis was also cast in a minor role in the 2010 comedy Date Night, starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell. She and Natalie Portman play rival ballet dancers in Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan.

In 2010 “Maxim Magazine Hot 100″ Kunis ranked #22, and for the 2010 FHM Hot 100 list she ranked #17. For the October 2010 Elle magazine 25th anniversary special edition, Kunis was one of the women chosen to be featured for their success at a young age. The honor included a photo and video presentation on the magazine’s website.
